Calculator



Upon calculating your footprint choose 1 area that you assessed and develop a plan to reduce your carbon emissions.

Calculate the following

1. How much would you reduce your footprint by making this change?
2. How much would this change cost you as a consumer.


What are the issues with implementing the change you have suggested. Discuss solutions on how to overcome these barriers. Find 1 example of how this change has been implemented successfully.

Send in what you have done at the end of the period (even if you have not finished the assignment)
Send in the complete assignment which should contain the following.

• Report of your footprint
• Description of the change you would make to your lifestyle
• Calculations associated with
• 1. Reduction of footprint
• 2.Cost
• Issues with implementation
• Solutions to barriers
• Example of successful implementation. 

We will discuss these in class on Monday.

How much food lab

1. Follow the instructions to figure out how much land is required to support your nutritional requirements.

2. Within a group of 4 create a comparison of nutritional styles
for example
1. Modern day omnivore LDC (lesser developed county  ex. Ethiopia)
2.Neanderthal (you will need to research approximate population size)
3. Vegetarian (United States)
4. Modern day omnivore MDC (more developed country ex. United States)


Figure out based on the population of the country you used for your analysis

a.  do they currently have enough farm land to feed their population
b. Based on the amount of land available versus the amount needed decide if there is a surplus or a demand for food in the nation you decided.  Using market values for the diet you created calculate how much money would be required to feed the population. (Surplus food = $ in the bank)

2) complete the Research+Response for that chapter from my website R+R (e-mailed to me as an attached  document 3 days after starting the chapter). (sept 10th)

3) Read the "Do the Math" box and complete the question from my website DTM1....some chapters have more than one of these (do both).  For each problem write a line of setup with units and an answer with units.  (e-mail to me by 4 days after starting the chapter)(sept 11th)
