Do Now:
Get an ipad and
Read this article
In an ecosystem matter is recycled and energy flows through.
Today in class we are going examine the first part of this statement by making posters that show biogeochemical cycling.
The poster topics are
Sulfur cycle
Phosphate cycle
Carbon Cycle
Water Cycle
Nitrogen Cycle
Rock Cycle
your task today is to
1. Create 2 posters
2. Research the following
B. research how the system uses this material and what support is needed to keep the cycle going if any.

The poster topics are
Sulfur cycle
Phosphate cycle
Carbon Cycle
Water Cycle
Nitrogen Cycle
Rock Cycle
your task today is to
1. Create 2 posters
- First, a poster that has the cycle labeled with the reactants and the products for each chemical reaction with the biological, geological or chemical condition in which it occurs
- Second, an unlabeled poster for review purposes.
2. Research the following
- Time spent in each phase and how much is in each phase
- Specific example of the cycle in an ecosystem
B. research how the system uses this material and what support is needed to keep the cycle going if any.

Calculating your ecological footprint
Calculate your carbon footprint
Calculator
Upon calculating your footprint choose 1 area that you assessed and develop a plan to reduce your carbon emissions.
Calculate the following
1. How much would you reduce your footprint by making this change?
2. How much would this change cost you as a consumer.
What are the issues with implementing the change you have suggested. Discuss solutions on how to overcome these barriers. Find 1 example of how this change has been implemented successfully.
Send in what you have done at the end of the period (even if you have not finished the assignment)
Send in the complete assignment which should contain the following.
- Report of your footprint
- Description of the change you would make to your lifestyle
- Calculations associated with
- 1. Reduction of footprint
- 2.Cost
- Issues with implementation
- Solutions to barriers
- Example of successful implementation.
